Private Party
Since 2010, DJ Nick@Nite has been DJing downtown for UT parties, downtown clubs, and weddings in Austin, Texas. In 2015, he formed Hype Rhythm DJ, LLC, and started the first wedding DJ + Drummer duo. At the time, Nick@Nite was the resident DJ at various famous downtown dance clubs such as Shakespeares, The Ranch, and Buford’s. Specializing in playing dance hits of all generations, “open-format DJ style”, he met drummer Chris Gray in 2015, and decided to give the hybrid idea a chance. After about a year of gaining popularity downtown, the two switched to doing weddings full time in 2016.
After much experience and honing our craft, we have gotten really good at throwing the perfect wedding and dance party. While working downtown clubs, Nick@Nite met a few other downtown DJs that provide a similar mixing style, and added them to the roster in 2022. We have now in 2023 added in other live musicians such as sax, violin, and guitar to further expand on other hybrid options that can work alongside our DJs.
Our style is to mix songs continuously, mixing out from each song about every two chorus/verses. We prefer to not play cheesy songs, like line dances. Normally we start a dance segment with oldies and progress to more modern hits as the evening goes on. Before the end of the night we will do some speciality set (like rock or rap/hiphop music sets), and then bring it back and end of a generational sing-a-long high note.

Hype Rhythm’s DJ Nick@Nite is one of the most highly requested mitzvah DJs in Austin. If you haven’t already heard, you will love the contagious energy that he brings and his ability to keep all age groups entertained throughout the party.
Planning and Organization
We like to meet with the parent and kid together to get a full understanding of their personality and what type of party they are envisioning. From our experience, each kid is different; some kids want to dance all night, and some kids want to play games all night. No matter the type, we have got you covered.
Although not as intricate as a wedding, we still help plan a full day of party timeline, visualize what the space will look like when set up, and give advice on the flow of events. Additionally, we help plan alternatives and backup plans that ensure a fun time no matter what.
Music and Games
Hype Rhythm makes planning the games and music a breeze. Not only do we have tons of tried and true games that kiddos love, but we also continuously add in new fun ones to keep things fresh.
Through our meeting, we build a custom set list based on everyone’s music requests, and the day of we mix everything together seamlessly and entertaining manner that will keep guests on the dance floor the entire time.
During the party we introduce and host the whole event, frequently letting kids and parents know of what is coming up next,making sure all important pictures are taken during event, setting up (running and providing sound) for the slideshow, and finally throwing in a few songs for the parents to get down to as well.
