November 2017 Events Recap

The Terrace Club Wedding – 11/12/17

!!New Announcement: Once again DJing with real vinyl!!

Decided that during the month of November I would try DJing with real vinyl during dinner once again to see how guests would respond. Long story short is that guests loved it and as a result I will now be brining back real vinyl into my gigs. It’s a great conversation starter and brings the real authentic “Austin DJ” vibes.

More importantly, and as always, The Terrace Club (Kristen, Hunter, and their staff) did an amazing job at Raquel and Tyler’s wedding. No rain was predicted for this Sunday wedding, but minutes before the ceremony a storm passed through, drenching the ceremony site. Kristen made sure every inch of the ceremony site was dry, and below you can see the beautiful bride, Raquel, waiting for the rain to pass and the ceremony to begin.

Backyard Wedding – 11/11/17

James and Courtney had an absolutely beautiful and cozy wedding at their parents house here in Austin. Favorite memory: As I was arriving to the wedding, I found the two best men rehearsing their toast/speech in secret and cracking up. So of course, this was one of the funniest best men speeches (see also: Roast) I’ve ever heard and I had to take a picture as to not forget. Glad they could bring the laughs and I brought the tunes!

Rattle Inn UT Theta Parents Weekend – 11/10/17

I was asked to fill in for DJ Kit K for the yearly UT Theta parents weekend, a late night gathering of over 400+ people. The person who put the event on, Laura, told me she didn’t expect any one to dance, but of course Hype Rhythm brings that fire in the winter. The calm scene above turned into a mosh of ladies dancing to hits from the 80’s and 90’s – much to everyone’s dismay, I could have easily done an encore for another hour had I not had another gig later that night as well downtown already. Such a blast and thankful I had the opportunity. Thanks to Kit, Laura, and Theta!

Mimosa Hall Wedding – 11/4/17

Candace and Mike saw me originally at Kim and Rob’s wedding that I did back last year and knowing how much fun they were in store for, they asked me to drive up to the DFW area to Mimosa Hall to DJ their wedding. Favorite memory: A fun alternative to not being able to use sparklers or bubbles is glow necklaces as seen above. Thanks for having me and glad we could get the party lit!

September 2017: Start of Fall Wedding Season in Austin, Texas!

The Austonian Residents Party and 6th Street Video – 9/23/17

Soon to be releasing videos from our two events this past weekend with videography and photography done by Airebourne Entertainment. Stay tuned!

San Antonio Wedding at The Witte Museum – 9/16/17

A majority of the weddings I DJ are in the Austin area, but I’m no stranger to San Antonio, and especially the Witte Museum. The groom, Matt, and I had played soccer together for a few years in high school, and I was honored when Matt and his fiancé, Claire, asked me to be their DJ. The dance floor was packed all night and I couldn’t be more happy for the newlyweds! Review to be posted soon!

Associated Wedding Planners of Austin – 9/12/17

The top wedding vendors in Austin were invited to a secret reveal party for AWPA, or Associated Wedding Planners of Austin. The goal of AWPA is to promote higher wedding industry standards for planners and the unbiased recommendation of other wedding vendors. Looking forward to working with AWPA associates in the future!

San Antonio Wedding at Embassy Suites Riverwalk – 9/2/17

I’ve done close to about 300 weddings now and had never seen this dance floor modification before – its a giant vinyl sticker with the couples monogram printed on top done by Embassy Suites. Knowing how much fun of a dance party they were about to have, I was really excited to take the before and after picture of the dance floor. Needless to say, the party was a blast and I played everything from Country, Hispanic, Top Hits, Throwbacks, and even got to Rick-Roll the groom with help from the bride. Congratulations Jessica and Chris, it was an honor to DJ for you guys, and wishing y’all the best!

Austin Wedding at The Texas Women’s Federation – 9/1/17

To me, this wedding was one of the best reasons why to hire a DJ for your wedding. The bride was looking for a sing-along type dance segment to  unconventional hits from the 60’s-80’s. I took the bride’s playlist and mixed it in with some more well known hits from that time as well to keep the guests on the dance floor all night! Ended with a Freddy Mercury/Michael Jackson/Prince sing along tribute, long story short – PERFECT! Thanks to Jen and Jon for having me help them pull off a great wedding.

July 2017

7/8/17 – Wedding

Blessed to have a family who supports my passion, and especially to my cousin who had me out to DJ his Saturday brunch wedding at the South Congress Hotel. This wedding was another amazing affair put together and coordinated by Michelle with Here to Help! I love brunch weddings, and especially having our family there to dance and have a good time made it unforgettable. Congratulations Mitch and Sarah!

7/3/17 – Wedding

Had a great time DJing for these two Baylor graduates, Emily and Adam, who got married out at Texas Old Town‘s Sage Hall the day before July the 4th (smart!). Guests had such a fun time dancing that we got too lit and ended up breaking the AC. Even though hot, we played it cool and still had a great time on the dance floor. Congratulations!

7/1/17 -Wedding

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of this wedding, but still wanted to post a big thank you to Jeremiah and Dee for having me there to DJ/Host/Coordinate their wedding. Dee suffers from a fear of public speaking and didn’t think she was gonna be able to make it through saying her vows. When it finally got to her vows, she began to break down and it looked like they were gonna have to be skipped, but instead of crying she overcame her fear and – seriously – said some of the most beautiful, heartfelt vows I have ever heard in 250+ weddings. Was really special to witness something so passionate like that, so thank you guys for having me!

3/25/17 – First Hype Rhythm Live Wedding

Congratulations and thank you so much to Yvette and Jorge of Vintage Photography Fine Art for having us down to San Benito, Texas to help celebrate their wedding at Rancho La Pergola. We were so excited for this one, as this was our first official wedding with the new DJ/Drummer concept. Needless to say, it was amazing! In the words of the groom “We wish he coulda been in the middle of the dance floor, our guests loved it!” Thank you so much once again for trusting us to premier our new concept at yall’s wedding. Looking forward to 2017 and changing up the wedding entertainment game!!!

Hype Rhythm @ SXSW 2017

Leading into the week of SXSW (thankfully it’s over), we had Aireborne Entertainment shoot this video of us preforming our newest DJ/Drummer concept at The Nook. Needless to say, it’s been going off like we never imagined! Another amazing video from the photoshoot above is coming real soon!

3/18/17 – SXSWedding

Thank you thank you so much to Rebecca and John for having me out to Hummingbird House to DJ their dream wedding! These guys are my dream client, wanting everything and anything from Country, Latino, throwbacks, and today’s jams. I usually only recommend a two hour dance segment, but Rebecca and John said they wanted to go for three. By the end of the night, we easily could have gone for another hour! I was in the zone not thinking of shooting a video, but hopefully we will get a video posted ASAP!

3/11/17 – Wedding

Congratulations to Brooke and Calvin who escaped a rather rainy weekend just in time to have a gorgeous ceremony at the beautiful Horseshoe Bay Resort in Marble Falls, Texas! I promised them the best dance segment ever, and as always I delivered! Video/Review to be coming soon!

3/4/17 – Wedding

Where to begin! Nick is the absolute best DJ and was an easy choice for our wedding! He did an amazing job communicating with us leading up to the wedding and his software system/website made organizing our music a breeze. It also gives you suggestions and helps you nix songs you definitely don’t want played (which is awesome). Our ceremony and reception were in two different places but Nick was able to provide the equipment and music for both! The ceremony music was absolutely perfect and he executed every transition so smoothly. Our reception turned into a huge dance party, which is exactly what we were wanting! Nick had people of all ages on the dance floor the entire night! You could really tell everyone was enjoying themselves. My husband and I were constantly getting compliments the entire night about how great Nick was and how they wished they had had a DJ like him for their weddings! We could not have asked for anything better! Nick worked with our coordinators leading up to the wedding to make sure everything was organized and ready. He also worked with them throughout the wedding to make sure the night ran smoothly all while being an AWESOME MC. For anyone looking for an amazing DJ you could not do any better than Nick! We highly recommend Hype Rhythm for anyone and everyone’s wedding! Nick is more than we could have ever asked for and helped to make our night perfect and full of amazing memories! Go with Hype Rhythm!

2/25/17 – Wedding

Congrats to JeT’aime and Bart who celebrated their perfect wedding at The Amala Foundation in Austin, Texas. As I told them already, put this wedding up on the ballot for wedding of 2017! Review coming soon!

2/11/17 – Traditional Indian Wedding

Had the honor of DJing for Hima and Mithun at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Texas. Their entire wedding was absolutely beautiful from start (7am!) to finish (11pm!). Above you can see the back of their dance floor, and below is how the space looked earlier during the ceremony. Had a great time, and am so appreciative that they gave me their trust to help them pull off a perfect wedding! Congratulations Hima and Mithun!

OH MY GAAAAAAAAWD
Nick!! Sorry to just be getting back to you.
First off, YOU *** KILLED IT.  Second, you’re the best DJ EVER.  everything was perfect, our friends and guests were obsessed w/ you and the tribute to MJ and price was the best part of the night.
Thank you so much for making the night so perfect, and seriously making us feel so special.  We will never ever forget our wedding day and reception.  I will send you 100% of any business I get and I sincerely hope we get a chance to work together again soon.
Thanks for everything,
Hima
